Thanks for listening, and you're doing great, mama!
Note: Looking for the WFH Survival Guide?... Well, I've been ashamed to admit this, but it's not done yet. However, I am ready to confess because if Netflix can fail hard on their live stream of Love is Blind Reunion (with a whole production team and crew) and ask for forgiveness, so can lil' ol' me. Thank you for your patience, and it will be done very soon!
Welcome to a mini episode of Mom Homie. I cannot think straight, and my voice obviously sounds like super horse right now because, um, as I was telling you all, I am going to be delivering uncut and. Barely edited, um, episodes of Mom Homie. Um, many or I should say mini episodes of Mom Homie, because I want to offer up a little bit more of the behind the scenes and, um, how I am getting these episodes to you, which in all honesty is. Barely. But I actually really enjoy this. And I also, you know, just wanna make sure that I'm keeping it real with you all about, um, what it's like to be a, uh, I guess solopreneur is the word that started coming to mind recently in terms of just like trying to, you know, give y'all something of value and, um, you know, actually. Do the damn thing, right? So, um, yeah, I, I am literally recording this, um, minutes before the main episode is due to go out, which I try to get every episode out. At 8:00 AM on every other Tuesday, um, I'm not always successful at that because I am doing all of this by myself. So like, you know, this recording I'm doing by myself. When I set up my recording and everything, that's by myself. I write all my outlines. I. And I wish I could make this up, but literally while trying to just film this mini episode, my. Um, memory card was full and it cut off. And so now I'm coming back with a new memory card and continuing this mini episode. So, um, it's funny, it seems like no matter what you have laid out, what are the things you checked, uh, whatever, how, how many times you'd tell yourself you're gonna do it, you know, earlier and give yourself more time. It always comes down to the wire. And, um, that's like the story of my life as a mom. I'm just like, I'm like, I'm gonna do this and I'm gonna handle that and I'm gonna take care of this, and this is gonna be this kind of day. And rarely is it ever like that. But you know what? We're here, we're getting it done. And as long as we're alive and our kids are alive and fed and loved, hey. We're doing just fine. So, um, yeah, I hope that you find these little mini episodes in between. Fun and again, just a, a real look at, um, I don't wanna say the mess that I am because I, I don't, I don't think that's a fair assessment. Um, I don't think anybody, you know, wakes up and plans to be a mess. I just think that things happen and life can get messy and you just keep on trucking, right? So, um, yeah. Uh, it's rare that I am filming a whole episode, um, just before it's. Do, I'm usually, when I say filming, I mean recording. I usually, um, record mm at my best a day or two before it needs to come out. And then I may edit it the night before. Um, but we are going on vacation, which is why things are super crazy. And um, I'm like, okay, but I've gotta get this out before we go because we're going to the woods. And not like, you know, bears eat you kind of woods, but, um, the woods nonetheless. So we're gonna be pretty disconnected from the internet and things like that, and that is lovely. I'm so looking forward to it. But that just means I can't do this any other place, any other time. Um, but right now, so yeah, I, um, hope that all of you have wonderful summer vacations lined up. And that you get to step away from work and that you get to take time to be with your loved ones and to be by yourself. I know that I need to put an emphasis on being by myself. I am always, you know, around either the kiddo and the husband or both of them. And I think that it does mean some good to have some time alone, especially because we've, um, Tested it out now and it's gone really well. I had a really great like, Just over 24 hours by myself, not that long ago. And, um, it was good for me. So, you know, if you're another mom out there who's like, Hmm, I wonder if I should take some time away, and, you know, feeling, you know, weird about that, don't, um, yeah, definitely take some time away. I know other moms who, um, actually took whole weekends for themselves for Mother's Day. So instead of, You know, celebrating Mother's Day with the person that made them a mom, or I should say the people that made them mom. Um, they were like, yeah, I'm gonna sneak away and just have, um, a day or two to myself at a hotel. And I was like, kudos to you, kudos to you. Um, I would totally do that myself, except for I don't have any sort of hotel money right now, but That's okay. We can always create our own. Um, You know, pockets of alone time, um, either by hiking or going for a walk, even if it's just for an hour or, you know, whatever it may be. So I hope that you find some alone time. I hope you find some rest and relaxation this summer. And if you haven't already listened to the latest episode of Mom Homie about. Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, whether or not she is a good mom or bad mom, go ahead and hop over to that episode and thanks so much for sticking with me thus far. I, um, hope you enjoy this like, kind of messy uncut, um, not outlined last minute sort of, um, rant of mine in that you find some solace in the fact that, um, You know, however we do business and however we do motherhood, um, it's, it's not gonna always be pretty or how we planned it to be, but we're doing it. So anyway, enjoy the rest of your day. Thanks for listening.
